Prospective candidates will possess experience in a Quality role preferably gained within in a health service or non for-profit organisation together with demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with and managing databases and data reporting.  A high level of computer literacy is a pre-requisite for appointment to this position including advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite – in particular, MS Word, Excel and Access.  The appointee will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, outstanding attention to detail, well developed analytical skills and expert administration skills.  The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work demands is essential as is the capacity to interact with and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.  Experience managing accreditation processes is also essential as is an excellent understanding of outcomes frameworks.

This position is available on a full time ongoing basis and is located at our Head Office in Moorabbin.  Candidates who meet the above criteria and who are seeking part time employment (0.8 FTE) or a part time work pattern across 5 days per week are welcome to express interest.

The Role

The role involves the provision of Accessible Psychological Intervention (API) services to eligible clients with a diagnosis of mild to moderate mental illness.  The primary target group for the service is clients on limited income who live in the prescribed catchment area. The appointee will possess comprehensive experience and interest in the assessment and treatment of a variety of psychological conditions across a broad client group including children. The service is primarily delivered onsite at the Ringwood site with some outreach. Key work tasks associated with this role include:

  • Provision of assessment & treatment by way of individual, group and/or family sessions;
  • Development of Psychological Treatment Plans (PTPs), Reviewing progress of PTPs and the outcomes of sessions, supports and strategies, and;
  • Referral of clients to alternative support services where appropriate.

Professional Qualifications

  • Registered as a Psychologist, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or;
  • Qualified and Registered as a Credentialed Mental Health Social Worker and eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration and experience in mental health.
  • Clinical experience working in a community-based setting is valued.
  • Previous experience working with families and/or children is highly desirable.

Regional Services Manager – Mediation Services

This position will have clinical practice oversight for Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners at our Chadstone and Ringwood offices in addition to overall site managerial responsibility across both sites.

Family Consultant – Social Worker

Exciting opportunity to support the implementation of an integrated model of care for responding to suspected elder abuse.

FMC has been selected to provide counselling and mediation services (including financial counselling) to the trial of the Department of Health and Human Services’s (DHHS) integrated model of care responding to suspected elder abuse.  FMC will work with DHHS and other partners in the trial to further develop an integrated service model for responding to elder abuse.

The appointee assumes responsibility for coordinating all client activity within the program with key work tasks including the following:

  • Development of a close working relationship with Elder Abuse Prevention and Response Liaison Officer to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients;
  • Undertaking high level client assessment, care planning for clients, acting as a consultant with older clients in mediation services and referring clients to services that best meet their needs;
  • Provision of counselling services to older clients where appropriate and coordination of all referrals to other services within FMC;
  • Promotion of the DHHS integrated model of care for responding to suspected elder abuse and in doing so, liaise and network with relevant community services organisations, Aged Care Services, hospitals and alike.

To be considered for appointment to this role, prospective candidates will require tertiary qualifications in Social Work.  The appointee will possess extensive experience in undertaking high level client assessment, care planning and coordination in both community and hospital settings and will have experience in and an understanding of the Aged Care sector.  High level skills in screening and assessment of elder abuse are essential as is well developed knowledge of complex care options and services available to the aged.  Other essential criteria include outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, excellent time management skills and highly developed problem solving ability.

This position is available on a part time basis at 0.6 FTE (days and spread of hours flexible) for a period of 12 months (with the possibility of extension) and is based at Peninsula Health in the Frankston/Mornington region.
