The course is suitable for all separated parents where conflict in the partner relationship is interfering with the task of parenting co-operatively in separation. It fulfils the requirements of Section 65LA when parents are in breach of existing Orders; or are at risk of breaching Orders.

The course is not suitable for parents who are looking only for parenting skills training. While some sessions look at parenting skills, the primary focus is on the post-separation relationship between the parents, and how to establish a co-operative parenting regime.

OTHER PROGRAMS:

  • Child Inclusive Mediation or Conciliation:

Provides children with a separate interview, and feedback to the parents. Requires separate intake interviews with each parent and a minimum of three joint sessions.

  • Conjoint Mediation and Family Therapy (CoMeT):

Longer term intervention where couples work with both a mediator and a therapist to deal with both the emotional impact of separation and the issues in dispute.

Short-term counselling for individuals or couples struggling with the emotional impact of separation.
